Christina

From Darkness to Light: Christina’s Transformation

Christina stood before a packed tent, her voice steady, her presence commanding. Five hundred of her neighbors had gathered, listening intently as she shared her story—one they never expected to hear.

They had always known her as the village sangoma, a traditional healer, a spiritual guide who claimed to speak with ancestral spirits. People came to her seeking answers—healing for their sickness, charms for good fortune, guidance from beyond the grave. Through the rhythmic pounding of drums, she would enter a trance, calling upon spirits who promised power but demanded more in return. She wielded influence, holding a position passed down through generations.

But despite all the power she had accessed, Christina found herself powerless over her own suffering. Diabetes and other afflictions weighed her down. The spirits she had trusted offered no relief. Then she heard whispers about a different kind of power—the healing power of Jesus Christ.

Curious, Christina made her way to a Greater Things tent meeting. Her intent was simple—she would seek out this Jesus, not to follow Him, but to add Him to her arsenal of spirits, enhancing her influence. But that night, something unexpected happened. She encountered Jesus not as another spirit to command, but as the true and living God.

She met her Healer. She met her Savior.

Three days later, in front of the entire village, Christina made a bold declaration. With her charms, drums, and muti spread before her, she spoke words that shook the crowd:

“I used these things all my life, and they never did me any good. I’m following Jesus, and I’m never turning back!”

With that, she walked away—not just from a practice, but from the darkness that had held her captive for years.

Her story is a powerful reminder: Jesus isn’t just another name to call upon. He is the name above all names. He doesn’t share His glory with spirits or charms. He alone has the power to heal, to save, and to set people free.

Christina found the truth—and in that truth, she found freedom.

Are you searching for answers? Seeking healing? Looking for hope? The same Jesus who changed Christina’s life is ready to change yours. Will you turn to Him today?
