Faithful

I read a lot from young ministers about God calling them up, talking about more prominent ministries, more people, bigger churches and so on. Let me just share with you, I have had the privilege to be in ministry for nearly 40 years. I have preached in living rooms and garages, open fields and stadiums, tents, shacks and palatial churches. I have ministered to tens and tens of thousands.

This is a picture of the building we rented when I started my first church. Built in the mid-1800s, it had incredible acoustics, hard seats and hard floors, no heat or running water, and an outhouse in the back. It is where God taught me about the reality of ministry and called me to Africa. I can tell you this, the power of the Gospel does not change with the size of the venue and the anointing does not fluctuate with size of the crowd. Be faithful with what you have been given in the place where you have been planted.
