Revival Swaziland

Our Arise and Rebuild revival in Mbabane marked our second visit to Swaziland. The plan was for me to minister during the evening services, while Bishop Charles Shongwe led the afternoon sessions and closed out the revival. Although I was physically exhausted from a prior ministry engagement, we witnessed a powerful move of God. Hundreds came to Christ, and many were healed. Seeing the outpouring of God’s blessing and the overwhelming response, Bishop Shongwe urged us to extend our stay—and we agreed.

A Royal Encounter

On Wednesday afternoon, we had the honor of meeting HRH Princess Myingili, sister to King Mswati III. As we greeted her, she warmly stated, “You are shaking the hand of kings.” Her words resonated deeply, reflecting the rich royal heritage she carried with such grace and strength.

During our conversation, we discussed the pressing needs of the Swazi people and our desire to collaborate on Christ-centered solutions. Although Swaziland is recognized as a Christian nation, many still practice a blend of Christianity and traditional religion. The country faces significant challenges, including one of the highest HIV/AIDS rates in the world. While schooling is mandatory, it is not free, leaving many children unable to attend due to unpaid fees—an issue making headlines even as we spoke.

Before we left, Princess Myingili asked us to remain until the revival’s conclusion on Sunday. We agreed. She also promised that upon our return, she would arrange an audience with the King.

Spreading the Message

Later that day, we were invited to Swaziland’s Channel S television for an interview, which aired during the evening news. Following the broadcast, I had the privilege of praying with some of the station’s staff.

A Night of Prayer, A Morning of Fire

On Saturday night, the church hosted an all-night prayer meeting, filled with a profound expectation of what God would do on Sunday morning. Despite the heat soaring above 120 degrees inside the tent, we pressed on.

That morning, I delivered a message titled “120”, drawing from the story of the 120 disciples who waited in Jerusalem for the promise of the Holy Spirit. These Spirit-filled believers changed the world, and on that day in Mbabane, hundreds came forward to receive that same Pentecostal experience.

God moved mightily in Swaziland, and we are excited for what lies ahead!
