Thursday Salubinza

Tonight we talked about taking a step of faith. Sometimes you have to step in the water for the river to stop. You have to build the ark before the rains come. You have to march around the city before the walls come down. You have to dig the ditch before the water come. You have to step in faith to receive the blessing. On the previous two nights Sylvester Thabiso told the people that this night we would be praying for financial blessing – not that God would miraculously drop money into the laps of the people, but that God would bless their efforts to find work.  In response, the people were to bring their CVs and resumes and we would pray over them.

I shared with them my experience of working for a major computer company many years ago. I kept a small placard on my desk that read “My job is not the source of my sufficiency.” It was a constant reminder that God was the source of blessing in my life and whatever else happened, He would be faithful. The company went through many restructurings that resulted in massive layoffs. Yet, each time my department was eliminated, I was singled out and promoted to a new position. This continued five times. Each time I could declare that God was truly my provider.
