Uganda 6/4 – 6/6/2025

The students at Faith in Christ Primary School were absolutely awesome. We gathered in the courtyard, which was the only place large enough to put everyone at once. After a brief introduction, Abi led the music and the morning lesson on Paul’s conversion. We followed with a skit portraying Saul/Paul as a Christian hating bully and his encounter with Jesus Christ. Brandon played Paul and Blanca played Ananias, who we called Anna for the play. The kids loved it. We broke into groups where the salvation lesson was reinforced at age-appropriate levels. Each teaching team did an incredible job. Brenda and Blanca had an additional challenge because their littles didn’t have as good an understanding of English. The teacher had to act as interpreter. After all that we took the adventurous drive to Hadoda Village where I taught 3 hours of lessons on the Holy Spirit. After the evening message the team gathered to pray for those who had needs.

The schedule for day 2 was supposed to be like the day before. Ha! We started the day at the soccer pitch. The students had walked to the field situated right in front of the prison. Evangel Assembly bought 20 soccer balls which we gifted to each of the two schools but they wanted to play now. We held our group meeting on the field. Abi led the music and Brenda did an excellent job of bringing the morning lesson on God’s presence. After a half hour of soccer, the students marched back to the school and we had the breakout sessions. The kids are really enjoying the teachings.

I continued my teaching on the Holy Spirit. Yesterday, we focused on the biblical evidence of the Holy Spirit as God and the third person of the trinity. Today, we focused on how the Holy Spirit is active in our lives as believers. In the first session we discussed the Holy spirit and sanctification. At the end there was a powerful move of the Holy Spirit as the people committed to follow the Lord in holiness – a facet that is sorely lacking in many churches today. Many were on their knees and others were on their faces. It was a holy moment.
In the second session I spoke on the baptism in the Holy Spirit. Again the Spirit moved and at least 25 people came forward to receive the baptism.

Pastor Albasac is one of the first men to start a church in the Busia District. He is at least 90 years old and faithfully pastored through the terror reign of Idi Amin. I met him in 2024 and he has come to all of the services in Hadoda. A precious man of God who is still passionate for the work in Uganda.

On Friday we finished our program at Faith in Christ School. There were fewer students because of another national holiday. Still, it was a wonderful time with the students that were there. We made a presentation of the Bibles and generator that were going to the school. These were items that have been desperately needed. Today’s theme was on encouragement. The lesson drew from the life of Paul and his time in prison in Rome. Even though he was under house arrest, he was still able to encourage those who visited him and write some of the epistles. The teachers did an excellent job capturing the essence of the message.

Brandon presented a series I prepared on Christocentric Biblical Theology. It was well received.

In the afternoon, I preached on the Fragrance of Worship. We had a good number of people come forward as an act of surrender and commitment to the Lord. There were many who came forward for prayer and there was a word of knowledge. There were several who needed to be released from curses that had been spoken over their lives.
